Stony Point FFA – Livestock Project Information
When deciding the type of animal project you would like to show, keep in mind that you will get from this project only as much as you are willing to put into it. Some projects require more space, as well as more costs, time, and energy. Each animal takes care and hard work. Remember, there are no “easy” projects if everything is done right... Please note the prices listed below are estimations. Prices may be higher or lower depending on circumstances and the current market.
**There is a non-refundable $50 deposit for the use of a school owned rabbit pen as well as a pen usage fee $100. The deposit goes towards the overall cost of cages. If damage occurs to the pen, you will be charged with a repair/replacement fee (between $20 - $100).
Facility Usage Fees and Livestock Fees:
ALL Facility Usage Fees and livestock fees must be paid for BEFORE the animal is purchased or on the day of purchase. You must also have a signed Livestock Show Policy and Pen Rental Agreement on file before or on the day of purchase.
Purchasing Animals:
The Ag Teachers will be making several trips to purchase animals. If you would like for us to help you select an animal, you may plan on attending one of these trips. If the student chooses to attend, the student is responsible for their own transportation. Payment will be made directly to the breeder on the day of the sale. You are free to seek out and purchase your own animals. We ask that you let us know BEFORE you purchase the animal. Market animals exhibited at the county and major livestock shows must be a certain age, please be aware of this when you purchase animals on your own.
